Paper Casting

Have you ever heard of paper casting? Jonnelle introduced me to it yesterday and I can't stop!! Want to try it? I'll tell you how...You will need bathroom tissue, a rubber stamp , and a dry towel or paper towels.

Here's how you do it...

1. Tear off about 8-10 squares of bathroom tissue and stack them on top of each other. You can use more or less squares depending on how thick the tissue is and how puffy you want your image. Moisten the paper in the sink. You will want to get it pretty wet.

2. Lay the bathroom tissue stack on your stamp. Press image into stamp. Use your fingers to push paper into the details.

3. While the paper is wet, tear sides for uneven edges or use the side of the stamp to tear straight edges on your image.

4. Using a dry towel or paper towels, press onto image to soak up excess water. Try to get as much water out as you can.

5. Carefully remove image from stamp and let dry.

After the papercast is dry, you can color these with chalks, inks, or other mediums. I used ink pads and a sponge dauber on mine!

I'm totally in love with this technique! Why don't you give it a try! If you do, please send me a picture of it or come back here to tell me how you liked it!

Stamps: All Holidays, Bloomin' Beautiful
Cardstock: Really Rust, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Ink: Really Rust, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Toilet Paper!!

Lovely Letters Gift

I was asked to make personalized notecards to give as a wedding shower gift. The bride is using "Pistacio"as one of her wedding colors. The closest I could come was Certainly Celery! I sort of cased this card but added another layer! What do you think?

I got the Lovely Letters set FREE from Stampin' UP! They are so generous with their demonstrator rewards programs! What a fun company to work for! If you are thinking about joining, I'd love to have you as part of my growing team! Call or email me for details!

On another note, Ben really wanted me to "put this picture on my computer"! He's my CRAZY 5 year old! He's definitly a handful but he's so hard to get mad at because he is just SO funny and absolutly adorable! I feel sorry for his teachers!

Have a wonderful day!

No Stampin' On This One!!

Last week I made 16 cards with less than 1/2 of the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit and the Chit Chat Rub-Ons. I love how easy and cute they were! Here is one of my favorites! I'll be posting the rest of them sporadically!
Well, it's a rainy, yucky Monday and I am so thankful that I don't have anywhere to be today! I just got JP off to school and now I think I'll head upstairs and start cleaning. I've promised myself that if I can get the boys rooms and the upstairs bathrooms cleaned this morning that I can stamp this afternoon!

Hair Bow Keeper

Alright, I NEVER thought I'd EVER EVER EVER have any reason to make a hair bow keeper for any of my children but now I do! Yes, Allie is only 3 1/2 weeks old but she has already accumulated a stash of hair bows! How cute is she? I know, I am so "that Mom"!

I had these frames from the Dollar Spot at Target. I just added some DSP, a flower made out of the scallop punch, a button, and little bit of ribbon! Super simple!
Here is a close-up!

This is her PINK bedding!
And these are the "TuTu Valances" that my Mom made for her! Aren't they adorable?

Happy Easter and Masters Sunday!

What is better than the Easter Bunny visiting? Masters Sunday, of course! Our family really enjoys watching golf! Even the little ones get into it! This year Easter Dinner was changed to "Easter Brunch" as to not interfere with tv coverage of the tournament! It's Allie's first Masters...it's a big deal. Even though her future Father In Law isn't doing so hot! Yes, we've already arranged a marriage between our daughter and his new son as well as with Will and Sam!. We're nuts.

I made this card with The Masters in mind, obviously! I saw a similar one somewhere but can't for the life of me find it now! So, if it was your card, thanks for the inspiration!
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Baja Breez
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
DSP: Urban Garden
Accessories: Stampin' UP! Texturz Plates, Dimensionals, Kiwi Kiss Ribbon, Circle Punches

Baby Announcements

All of my baby announcements have been sent out so now I can share it on my blog! But, first I need to thank Jaimie for the inspiration! I saw a swap card that she did and knew right away that it would make a perfect announcement! Check out her blog! She does awesome work! I had so much fun making these! Granted, it took me awhile since I had to do them in little stages in what "free time" I had! I hope you like them as much as I do!

As you can see, I used a variety of paper from the Sweet Always DSP pack. I was also able to use a few different colors from the DSP to coordinate the flap with the photo and birth info! I am one of those people that has a hard time making a lot of just one project so it helped me to be able to change it up a bit! The inside was printed on my computer using the RGB codes for Stampin' UP!'s Chocolate Chip. Here are the details..
Stamps: Introducing
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Chocolate Chip
